GULF SHORES, Ala. – The City of Gulf Shores and Alabama Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce will be partnering to host the inaugural Community Wellness Day on Saturday, June 23 at the David L. Bodenhamer Recreation Center in Gulf Shores.
Community Wellness Day will kick off at 10 a.m. with a health fair featuring free screenings and fitness demonstrations from the community’s top health and wellness professionals. Attendees will have the opportunity to gather valuable tips on how to successfully adapt their habits and improve their lives physically, emotionally and nutritionally.
“Our goal is to encourage all members of our community to lead stronger and healthier lifestyles,” said Nicole Ard, Recreation Manager. “We hope this event will help to increase awareness of the resources our community has to offer, including a free visit to explore the Bodenhamer Recreation Center’s fitness and aquatic amenities.”
While the day is primarily geared towards increasing health and wellness awareness in the community, the event will have plenty of fun and excitement for everyone to enjoy. Families stopping by the event can enjoy the Kids Zone filled with inflatable waterslides, obstacle courses and more.
However, the excitement isn’t just for the kids. All attendees will have the opportunity to win a variety of door prizes and take advantage of a special Bodenhamer membership promotion.
“We have a passion for health at the Bodenhamer and we want to do everything we can to encourage and support our community in their walk towards wellness,” said Ard. “Anyone who signs up for a one-year membership during the event will receive an additional month free of charge.”
