FOLEY - As the holidays approach, the City of Foley has released its holiday schedule.

Holiday closures:

City of Foley administrative offices will close at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 22. City offices, other than emergency personnel, will remain closed on Thursday, Dec. 23 and Friday, Dec. 24 for the Christmas holiday. Regular operations will resume on Monday, Dec. 27.

Other city departments and museums will also close at noon on Dec. 22 and reopen on Monday, Dec. 27. This includes the Foley Public Library, Graham Creek Nature Preserve, The Foley Railroad Museum and the Model Train Exhibit, and also the Holmes Medical Museum.

City offices will be closed on Friday, Dec. 31 for the New Year’s holiday. Regular operations will resume on Monday, Jan. 3. The Foley Public Library will be closed from Friday, Dec. 31 until Monday, Jan. 3 for New Year’s.

Garbage and recycling schedule:

Tuesday, Dec. 21 and Thursday, Dec. 23 garbage and recycling will be picked up on Tuesday, Dec. 21. Wednesday, Dec. 22 and Friday, Dec. 24 garbage and recycling will be picked up on Wednesday, Dec. 22. City staff asks those on the Foley routes to have all containers out by 6 a.m. Limbs/yard debris and bulk pickup routes will resume on Monday, Dec. 27.

For New Year’s observances, Friday, Dec. 31 garbage and recycling service will be picked up on Thursday, Dec. 30. City staff asks everyone on the route to have all containers out by 6 a.m. Limbs/yard debris and bulk pickup service will resume on Monday, Jan. 3, beginning where crews ended before the holiday.
