FAIRHOPE, Ala. — A backhoe rodeo will be held on June 20, at Quail Creek Golf Course. The competition will be held in conjunction with the Alabama Public Works Associations Golf tournament. The tournament begins at 8:30 a.m.

The backhoe rodeo will start at 1 p.m. Participants are invited to register the day of the event. The rodeo is open to any and all experienced backhoe operators, for the entry fee of $20.

There will be a knuckle boom competition at the same time and place. The knuckle boom competition is open to any and all experienced knuckle boom operators for an entry fee of $20.

First-, second- and third-place awards will be given for each event.

Exercises for the competition will be timed, and there will be a variety of backhoes and equipment available for use in the competition.
