Christopher M. Hill of Fairhope, Alabama passed away June 23 after a long batter with cancer. He was 74.

Chris was born and raised in Gadsden, Alabama, and attended Gadsden High. He graduated from Marshall High in Cleveland, Ohio in 1960.

He served in the U.S. Army, and afterward graduated from Fenn College (now Cleveland State University).

He and his family lived in Cleveland for many years, before relocating to Fairhope at retirement.

Chris was an avid ham radio operator, and enjoyed traveling, photography, do-it-yourself projects and relaxing while watching cooking shows.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; and daughters, Jennifer Gresham (Paul) of Fairhope and Amanda Gibson (Roy) of Waldorf, Maryland; as well as friends all over the country.

Chris opted to donate his body to the University of South Alabama College of Medicine for medical study, after which, he will be cremated.

A memorial service will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
