FAIRHOPE, Alabama— On Monday, Dec. 24, at approximately 9 a.m., the Fairhope Police Department responded to a report of a burglary at a financial institution.
Responding officers determined that an unknown person or persons had disabled the alarm system and gained entry to the building. It is believed that the burglary occurred during the early morning hours of Dec. 24.
The Fairhope Police Department, with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), is conducting an investigation into the break-in.
No additional information has been released yet. The name of the institution and a report on what, if anything was taken will be provided after further investigation, according to the Fairhope Police Department.
If anyone sees suspicious activity near any banks, they are encouraged to immediately notify the police. This includes suspicious vehicles, persons, and unusual circumstances.
Anyone using any bank facility after hours, such as a night deposit or ATM, is encouraged to be aware of their surroundings and to notify the police immediately of any possible criminal activity.
