Christian Service Center launches annual Christmas Cheer program

Posted

The Christian Service Center has launched its annual Children's Christmas Cheer program, providing toys, gifts and holiday support to families in need throughout the Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Fort Morgan communities.

The program, coordinated by the Christian Service Center Christmas Cheer Team of Becky Watson, Jill Post and Betty Oliver, relies on donations from Angel Gift donors and the efforts of volunteers, including community business partners, church members and civic groups.

Community members can participate by picking up an Angel tag at the Christian Service Center or through participating local businesses, churches and schools. The tags help connect donors with children who need a little extra holiday cheer.

Families residing in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach or Fort Morgan who need assistance providing Christmas toys for their children or custodial grandchildren are eligible to participate. The program serves children from newborns through high school age.

Registration and distribution details

Families must register in person at the Christian Service Center, located at 317 Dolphin Ave. Registration will be available from 1-3 p.m. on the following dates:

• November 3, 4 and 5
• November 10, 11 and 12
• November 17, 18 and 19
• November 24
• December 1, 2 and 3
• December 8, 9 and 10

Toy distribution is scheduled for Dec. 14-16 at the Toyland warehouse, located at The Island Church.

Families also can register for a Christmas dinner box during their intake appointment.

The Christian Service Center encourages community members to support the program through donations and volunteer efforts to help brighten the holidays for local families.
