DAPHNE, Ala.—Christ the King Catholic School continues a long standing tradition at the school with the celebration of its annual Pumpkin Festival scheduled for Oct. 24.
Gretchen Agostinelli, the 2010 event’s chairperson, hopes the event will continue to build on the relationship between Christ the King School and parish and the Daphne community.
“This is truly a community event,” said Agostinelli. “We invite everyone to help us celebrate the season as we look forward to All Hallows Eve and the Feast of All Saints.”
Agostinelli said this event would not be possible without the gifts of love and charity that the families of Christ the King share with Christ and one another. Countless hours have been spent by many to ensure a successful festival. Each year the Pumpkin Festival raises capital for the benefit of the school.
The CKCS Pumpkin Festival will be held on Oct. 24 from noon until 4 p.m. on the school grounds. Wristbands, which may be purchased at the gate, allow access to most activities. There will be games; food including hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza, and gourmet red beans and rice; a bake sale; and a raffle.
New this year will be the first apple-pie bake-off with the grand prize winner receiving a stand mixer.
