Child dies after head-on collision in Foley

FOLEY — A head-on collision in Foley has taken the life of a child.

According to Foley Police Lt. Shawn Miller, at approximately 10:20 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to an accident at the intersection of County Road 65 and Airport Road.

“A Ford Explorer driven by Patrick Williams and a Dodge Charger driven by Tameca Brown were involved,” he said in a news release.

According to Miller, a 9-year-old female passenger in the Dodge was transported by Life Flight to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla., where she later died from her injuries.

Williams was treated and released from South Baldwin Regional Medical Center. In addition, Brown and a 4-year-old female were taken to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, where they were treated for injuries.

No information on what caused the collision were yet available. However, Miller said the case remains under investigation.
