The first weekend in December tends to be a little hectic around my house. It means climbing into the attic and dragging plastic tubs of interior and exterior holiday décor down the rickety wood folding ladder. Next, the exterior light hanging, yard inflatable placement and scrambling to locate all the extension cords (all while keeping an eye on the neighbors displays to see if I need more lights). Lastly there is the explosion of glitter that covers the living room while I set up the Christmas village and my family hangs ornaments on the tree.

While many of us will be focused on displaying our holiday cheer at home, don't miss the full slate of events happening this weekend. Listen to a bedtime story with Santa, pack food boxes or pick up more holiday décor at Emmy's Thrift Shop. Wherever the weekend takes you, remember to slow down and make memories with the ones you love.
