Charles F. Washburn, a native of Marion, and a longtime resident of Silverhill, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at the age of 68.
Mr. Washburn is survived by two sisters, Janette Legrone (Henry) of Silverhill, and Marie Hawie (Don) of Mobile; one brother, Thomas Washburn (Margie) of Raleigh, N.C.; eight nephews, and a niece. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ina Washburn Curtis, and father, Thomas Washburn.
Mr. Washburn was a member of First Baptist Church of Silverhill and a member for many years of the Silverhill Volunteer Fire Department. Charles was a very special person who enjoyed people. He never spoke an unkind word about anyone and if you did one act of kindness toward him, he would never forget it and you were his friend for life. He was a unique individual. We will miss him so much!
Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Mack Funeral Home Chapel in Robertsdale. Interment will be at Fairhope Memory Gardens.
A visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at Mack Funeral Home.
