Edward Carl Chappel, 70, of Foley, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008 in Foley.
He was born Sept. 21, 1937 in Maryland.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys B. Chappel of Foley; daughter, Cathy (Tony) Haynes of High Point, N.C.; one granddaughter, Shannon Haynes Peralto of High Point, N.C.; two sisters, Patricia Pope and Alice Loflin, both of High Point, N.C.; brother, Gwyn Chappel of High Point, N.C.; step-granddaughter, Adriene Callaway of Wetumpka; three step-daughters, Kathy Saxon and Vikki Cooper, both of Elberta, and Peggy Shoemaker of League City, Texas; two step-sons, Wayne Austin of Marietta, Ga., and Christopher Austin of Chicago; four step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with funeral services at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6 at Pine Rest Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
