Ila Mae Varena Roberts Chandler, 82, a native of Live Oak, Fla., and a resident of Bay Minette, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008 at her residence.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Jack Chandler of Bay Minette; son, Michael W. (Cathy) Chandler of Bay Minette; daughter, Carmen Varena Keith of Daphne; two sisters, Leona Fortner of Pensacola, Fla., and Bobbie Little of Tallahassee Fla.; four grandchildren, Carrie Reece of Bay Minette, Michelle Jones of Irvington, Zachary Keith of Memphis, Tenn., and A. J. Keith of Daphne; and one great-grandson, John Michael Jones.
Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 29 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Henry Cox and Dr. Chip Starnes officiating. Burial followed at Bay Minette Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were, Zachary Keith, A.J. Keith, Matthew Jones, Ben Reece, Douglas Purvis and Richard Campbell.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Baldwin County Office, 19059 Greeno Road Suite A, Fairhope, AL 36532 or to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1628, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
