The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce has hired a new Executive Director to oversee the daily operation of its chamber.
Marian Mason was hired by the Chamber’s Executive Board and began her new position this month. A former radio/television reporter in the Austin, Texas, and San Francisco areas, she has 15 years of experience in media and marketing as well as 10 years in fundraising and non-profits. Most recently, Mason assisted in Hurricane Katrina Recovery while managing an employment center in Mobile which helped victims locate employment, return to school or begin a small business. Approximately 2600 individuals were placed in jobs, colleges or started a business during her 18-month tenure at the temporary office.
“I am delighted to be affiliated with such a committed group of people,” said Mason. “The Board has a tremendous vision of smart growth for the people of the central Baldwin area, and I am anxious to help them achieve their goals.”
Dennis Stastka, current Board Chairman, said the chamber board is excited to have Ms. Mason serving as the Executive Director because of her experience. “Marian brings marketing, fundraising and a strong business sense to the chamber which will be a tremendous asset to our ongoing growth. She has accepted the challenge with an enthusiasm that will take this chamber to the next level regionally.”
