Central Baldwin communities plan holiday festivities

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Municipalities in Central Baldwin County are getting into the holiday spirit with Christmas parades and festivities beginning this weekend.

Silverhill will kick things off with a parade along Highway 59 beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 followed by open house. Town hall will be open along with other businesses in town. Then, beginning at 7 p.m., the town will be showing a Christmas movie outside at the Oscar Johnson Memorial Library.

On Saturday, photos with Santa, sponsored by United Bank, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Town Hall. Cathy Elgie will once again be providing two 5 x 7 photos at a cost of $10. Contact town hall at 251-947-5198 to schedule an appointment and for more information.

Robertsdale’s Christmas in the Park will be held beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 at Honeybee Park on Highway 59 North.

The Robertsdale High School choral department will provide entertainment from 4 p.m. until the start of the parade, beginning at 6 p.m. Parade participants will meet at Robertsdale High School and follow the parade route up Pine Street to Hammond, from Hammond to Highway 59, where the parade will end at Honeybee Park. Following the parade, the Robertsdale High School band will perform.

Loxley’s Christmas Parade will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 with the parade route following Highway 59 north to the Loxley Municipal Park, where there will be a Christmas in the Park following the parade.
