ELBERTA, Ala. — Hundreds descended on Baldwin County Heritage Museum Saturday for the second annual Camellia Festival.
The day was filled with demonstrations of early Baldwin County life, including rope making, thread spinning, chair caning, black smithing and huck weaving. In addition, a presentation was given about growing camellias. Plus, the posies, themselves, were on display.
The day did have a couple of hitches, though. Due to the cool temperatures, the sugar cane demonstration was canceled. So was the camellia contest, as recent freezing temperatures affected the flower’s growing season.
