Alta Marie Carter of Fairhope died Wednesday, April 11, 2007.
She was a devoted wife and mother , enjoyed reading , cooking and gardening. She was also a retired legal secretary.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Norman "Hap" Carter, children, Jack (Kathleen) Carter of Richardson, Texas, Phyllis (Tony) Compretta of Mobile, Patricia (Joe) Wagner of Mobile and Leatha (John) Nordmann of Fairhope; and grandchildren Anthony Compretta of Birmingham, Kevin and Jeffrey Compretta of Mobile and Meagan, India and Madeleine Nordmann of Fairhope.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Mercy Medical.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday April 14, 2007 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. Interment will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park with Father Phil Chapman officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Mercy Medical.
Arrangements are by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Fairhope.
