Carolyn McMillan Noonan died at her home on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, after a lengthy illness.
She was a resident of Orange Beach and a native and longtime resident of Bay Minette.
Mrs. Noonan is survived by her son, George Lee Noonan Jr (Jeannine Mitchell), of Bay Minette; grandsons, George Lee Noonan III (Amanda Fernandez), of Nashville, Tenn.; Campbell McMillan Noonan, of Bay Minette; brothers, Laurie McMillan of Huntsville and Cecil McMillan of Montgomery; sisters, Anne Glover of Mobile and Julia Weaver of Daphne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lee (Bootsie) Noonan.
She and her husband owned and operated several businesses in Bay Minette and Gatlinburg, Tenn., for more than 50 years. She attended the Orange Beach Methodist Church and was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Bay Minette.
Active pallbearers will be George Lee Noonan III, Campbell McMillan Noonan, Rusty Glover, Bill Glover, Billy McMillan, Virgil McMillan, Jimmy McMillan and Irving Stamps. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Turner, Dan Blackburn, Allen Bailey, Earl Stephens, David Simon and Bill Roberts.
Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church, Bay Minette, Sunday, Aug. 21, 1:30 p.m., with services following at 3. Interment will follow at the Bay Minette Cemetery. Dr. Henry Cox, the Rev. Dick Brooks and Dr. Allen McBride will be officiating.
Although the family will gratefully accept flowers, it is suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Bay Minette Public Library or the Orange Beach Public Library.
