D.J. “Peachie” Carlisle, 86, a native and resident of Bay Minette, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Oakwood North Baldwin's Center for Living.

He was a retired Millwright with Reichhold Chemicals in Bay Minette and was a World War II veteran having served with the United States Marine Corp.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elinor Carlisle.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn (Claude) Rogers of Pensacola, Fla., and Ann (Timmy) Richerson of White House Fork; three grandchildren, Jason M. Rogers, Russell Hayes Richerson and Emily Danielle Hall; two great-grandchildren, Averie McKenzie Hall and Elinor Reagan Richerson; sister-in-law, Dorothy Carlisle of Bay Minette.

Graveside funeral services and burial were held Tuesday, May 20 at Bay Minette Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Brewster and the Rev. Gerald Rider officiating. Military honors were rendered at the graveside by the U.S. Marines Honor Guard.

Active pallbearers were, Hayes Richerson, Jason Rogers, Jeremy Hall, Claude Rogers, Harry Shiver and Dennis Carlisle. Honorary pallbearer was Timmy Richerson.

Arrangements were made by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
