Carl Morgan Adams Jr., 72, of Fairhope, died peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2013. Carl was born in Macon, Ga., and received his B.S. in business from Stetson University.

Carl had a distinguished career in real estate as a mortgage banker, real estate developer and appraiser.

He served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps during the Vietnam conflict, and was an active member of Fairhope United Methodist Church.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl M. Adams Sr. and Emily Harmon Adams; and by a daughter, Bettina Love Adams.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betsy; two sons, Carl Morgan Adams III and his wife, Laura, and Rupert Bradley Adams and his wife, Laura; and three granddaughters, Caroline, Emily and Sarah; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service to honor Carl’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2013 at Fairhope United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Laura Parker and Dr. Ann Pearson officiating.
