As the championship soccer season kicks into full gear over the next month at the new Foley Sports Tourism Complex, so does the need for event volunteers.
“Our community has embraced this vision of making Foley a top national sports venue, with great support from our sponsors, business partners and sister departments in the city,” said Director of Sports Tourism Don Staley. “Now as our schedule of major events begins to peak, we need to deepen our pool of volunteers for specific needs of our rights holders. If you like being on the fields and up close to the action of top NCAA, collegiate and U.S. Youth Soccer tournaments, request a volunteer date and time of your choice to come on out and join us.”
Among the specific volunteer needs outlined by Staley and his staff are the following:
The Sun Belt Conference Championship (Nov. 2-6) has requested ball shaggers for their games. They have requested 4 shaggers per game. ESPN 3 will be here broadcasting the Sun Belt games.
4 volunteers needed per game — Games Times are:

Wednesday, Nov. 2. 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m.
Friday, 4 p.m., 7 p.m. Semifinal Games.
Sunday, 1 p.m. Championship Game.
4-6 volunteers needed per shift as Greeters/VIP Tent and Team Hospitality.
Wednesday: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Friday: 2 p.m. -6 p.m., 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Sunday: 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Alabama State Cup
Ball shaggers and Field Marshals needed for Saturday, Nov. 5 and Sunday Nov. 6 as well as the following weekend, Nov. 12 and 13.
