The Coastal Alabama Farmers & Fishermens Market is preparing for its annual Harvest Festival and is accepting entries for the Little Miss Harvest Queen Pageant, which will crown its 10th Harvest Queen this year.

The festival, held the Saturday before Thanksgiving, gives shoppers an opportunity to stock up for their Thanksgiving feast while also featuring the annual pageant. The competition is open to Baldwin County residents in third, fourth or fifth grade.

Contestants can register by downloading the entry form from the Coastal Alabama Farmers & Fishermens Market website and submitting the completed application along with a $20 entry fee and a photo with the contestant’s name written on the back. The fee may be paid by cash or check made payable to City of Foley.

Applications and materials may be mailed to City of Foley c/o Prisila Hughes, PO Box 1750, Foley, AL 36536, or dropped off at the Foley Activity Center, 315 E. Jessamine St. in Foley. Registration information also directs applicants to submit materials to Prisila Hughes at the Foley Parks & Recreation Office, 121 N. Alston St. in Foley.

Complete entries must be received by the Monday, Nov. 16.

The pageant’s interview portion will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. The Harvest Queen will represent the event at several community celebrations throughout the year, including the Foley Christmas Parade, Foley Mardi Gras Parade and the Corn Festival.

The Harvest Festival and pageant are scheduled for Nov. 21.
