ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — Robertsdale Elementary students from kindergarten through third grade were treated to a visit from Buster the Talking School Bus on Wednesday, Aug. 17. Buster was brought to RES by Bryan Nash, retired director of Transportation for the Tuscaloosa School System. Together Buster and Nash taught students a lesson in school bus safety which was both fun and educational. Students learned many important safety tips such as to stay at least 10 feet away from the bus so the driver can always see them, to always look both ways before crossing the street, and to be careful not to distract the driver while they are riding the bus.
Buster is one crazy and funny robotic bus. In addition to teaching bus safety rules, he also enjoyed playing tricks on two of our teachers, Mrs. Krusling and Coach Jacks. Nash says he loves his job. He and Buster have spent the last six years visiting over 300 schools throughout the Southeast in an effort to improve school bus safety.
