Vera Golden Clackler Buettner, 84, a resident of Silverhill, died March 2, 2009 at USA Hospital in Mobile.
She worked at Brookley Field until it closed and transferred to Warner Robbins Air Force Base in Georgia where she worked until retirement. In earlier years, she was a member of the Polka Dots Mardi Gras Society; until the last few years she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Loxley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A.H. and Mary Jane Golden.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald (friend Myrtis Dickinson) Clackler of Semmes and Mark Clackler of Birmingham; daughter, Madeline Farmer (Tom) Jernigan; grandchildren, Lynne (Danny) Cook of Georgia, Robyn (Bob) Warren of Mobile, Stacia (Marc) Cox of California, Brittany Ellis of Daphne, Danna Farmer of Birmingham, Paul (Dr. Linda) Farmer of Auburn, Joy (Eric) Fulman of Alabaster; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Esther Trione (Lee) VanDam of Daphne, Carol Howard of Fairhope and Barbara (Clinton) Maulden of Silverhill; brother, James “Jimmy” Golden of Mobile; many nieces, nephews; grand nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service and burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7 at the Golden Rock Cemetery in Flomaton with the Rev. Bo Rice officiating.
Arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, Robertsdale.
