Wilma A. Buescher, 86, former resident of Daphne and a resident of Springfield, Ill., died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg, IL.
She was born July 7, 1922 in Bradford, Ill., the daughter of Charles Flora Osborne Sellers. She married Clarence “Bud” Buescher Aug. 28, 1949 in Peoria, Ill.
She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Springfield, Ill., and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Daphne. She graduated from Browns Business College in Peoria, and at one time was very active with the Brownies and Girl Scouts.
She was a member of The Red Hats along with the Alter Guild and Sewing Circle in Daphne. She loved people and her favorite thing to do was have a “nice conversation.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Bud” Buescher in 1994; and a sister Virginia Higgins.
Survivors include daughter Nancy (Tim) Cowan of Springfield, Ill.; four grandchildren, Kaycee (Mike) Haschemeyer of Springfield, Ill., Tara Cowan, Gabe Cowan, Kahra (Michael) Sinks of Sherman, Ill., five great-grandchildren Madison Haschemeyer, Kyle Haschemeyer, Ashleigh Sinks, Lauren Sinks and Nichole Sinks, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation begins at 4:30 p.m. with a memorial service at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Springfield, Ill., with the Rev. James Henning officiating.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Concordia Lutheran Church.
