Arthur L. “Art” Brown, a native of Davenport, Iowa, and resident of Daphne, died Saturday, June 2, 2007. He was born Nov. 13, 1921.

He was a combat veteran of World War II and served as a B-17 pilot with the Mighty 8TH Air Force in England and participated in the air battles over Germany.

He and his wife retired from the automobile business in Davenport and moved to Daphne in 1982. Many organizations shared his time and devotion. He was past master of the Greeno Masonic Lodge #598 in Fairhope, Mobile Consistory, Mobile York Rite Bodies, and Abba Shrine Temple. He was past president of the Lake Forest Property Owners Association. He was a member of the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church. Love of family, golf and reading were his favorite past times.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Bonnilee Brown; three sons, Dr. Barry L. (Mary Katherine) Brown of Mobile, Craig L. (Janet) Brown of Dardenne Prarie, Mo., and Patrick G. (Victoria) Brown of Danville, Calif.; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, close relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held beginning at 1 p.m., followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 5 at the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church.

Interment will be Friday, June 8 at Clarence Cemetery in Clarence, Iowa.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church.
