GULF SHORES, Ala. -- The seniors at Day Break Senior Daycare were thrilled to be visited by recording artist Brent Burns recently.
The popular song writer and singer performed for more than an hour and often the seniors sang along. Everyone had a great time. Readers can follow Brent at his web site www.brentburns.com or on his facebook page.
Day Break Senior Daycare provides a secure, loving environment where individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia are encouraged to participate in playing games, craft projects, singing, exercising and social interaction.
The senior daycare provides participants’ fulltime caregiver with short term relief from the unrelenting demands of care giving by providing time out to grocery shop, attend support groups, or visit friends and family.
All Day Break Senior Daycare participants must be pre-registered. The program is not designed to provide medical or counseling services but to provide support for the caregivers and their loved ones.
It is offered every Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and is located in Building B on the South Campus of Gulf Shores United Methodist Church. Cost is $20 per visit and includes a hot lunch.
