Brent Burns, legendary Gulf Coast singer, songwriter and humorist, will celebrate the release of his sixth CD, “Ragtops and Flip Flops,” with a CD release party at Lulu’s, 200 E. 25th Ave., Gulf Shores, on Saturday, May 19, from 1-5 p.m.

As with his previous CDs, a portion of proceeds from the sale of “Ragtops and Flip Flops” will be donated to charity. Burns has raised over $25,000 for charity, primarily Habitat for Humanity, through his CD sales. In addition to Habitat for Humanity, his other favorite organizations include the American Cancer Society and the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo.

For this special event, Burns will be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win his 1989 Chrysler LeBaron convertible. The car will be on site at Lulu’s. Tickets will be $10, with all proceeds going to the Brent Burns Charitable Foundation.

Burns established the foundation to be a “quick-reacting charity to those in need and to donate to other worthy charities.”

“Ragtops and Flip Flops” is a collection of original tunes about beach life and life in general from Burns’ unique perspective.

Burns has already performed some of the new songs with great audience response.

“I Married My Stalker” and “Double Wide in The Sky” are already crowd favorites.

At the CD release party, Burns will perform the new songs and giving the audience the story behind the songs.

After the party, Burns will hit the road to promote “Ragtops and Flip Flops.” Stops on the 12-city promotional tour include Oklahoma City, Houston, Austin, Seattle and New Orleans, with dates in Florida, Wisconsin and Michigan.
