BRAG offers summer camps

DAPHNE, Ala. — The performing arts are alive and well when acclaimed director Martha Lynch comes into town.

Lynch has over 150 successful musicals and plays to her credit in the Washington, D.C. area.

She will begin her Gulf summer with three weeks at Bay Rivers Art Guild, offering theater enlightenment, on-stage presence to behind the scenes development.

In the fall, she will direct “The Fantastics” at the South Baldwin Community Theatre. Lynch is looking forward to auditions beginning in July.

Although BRAG’s Art Camp begins in June (14-18 and 21-25), six theater classes are available in July, one in the morning and one in the evening, July 12-18, 19-23 and 26-30.

The morning classes, “TAKE ONE!,” are for ages 6 and 7, from 10 a.m. until noon.

“Lights, Camera, Action!,” 1 to 3 p.m., are for ages 8 and up.

The classes focus on enhancing self-confidence and thinking outside the box, and will encompass fun, theatrical warm-ups, improvisation exercises, makeup, stage presence and more geared to the appropriate age group.

Each class will conclude with a small performance.
