Herman Lester Boyington, 88, a native of the Pine Grove community and a resident of Bay Minette, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2007 at his residence.
He was a self employed carpenter and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Beatrice Flowers Boyington; son, Wayne Lester Boyington and granddaughter, Elizabeth Lou Hinote.
Survivors include five children, Wilburn Ronnie (Connie) Boyington of Latham, Cecil Ray Boyington of Latham, Ginger Boyington (Roger) Phillips of Stockton, Harry Dwight “Bubba” (Mona) Boyington of Latham and Priscilla Boyington (Charles) Barron of Stockton; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Curtis Boyington of Stapleton and Jerry Boyington of Fairhope; and three sisters, Lucille Adams and Foye Ann Cushion, both of Mobile and Jewelne Boyington of Fairhope.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 29 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home. Burial followed at Bay Minette Cemetery.
