Alton Leo Boyett, 76, a native of Opp and a resident of Bay Minette, died Thursday, May 24, 2007 at North Baldwin Infirmary in Bay Minette.

He was a retired printer with the Mobile Press Register. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean war. He was a member of Bay Minette Lodge No. 498, 32nd degree Scottish Rite and Abba Temple Shrine in Mobile and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Etoyel Taylor and Helen Valera Stewart, and brother, Marvin Harold Boyett.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ann Hollway Boyett of Bay Minette; two sons, Alton Wayne (JoAnn) Boyett of Bay Minette, and Michael (Julie) Boyett of Spanish Fort; three daughters, Teresa (John) Drinkard of Stockton, Shan (T.C.) Wager of Bay Minette, and Phyllis (Ricky) Waldrop of Bay Minette; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred (Sue) Boyett of Opp; and sister, Betty Jowers of Bay Minette.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 27 at Norris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 28 from funeral home chapel with Dr. Henry Cox and the Rev. Fred L. Boyett officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Sweet Home Baptist Cemetery in Opp. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guards.
