Raymond H. “Bay” Booker, 62, a native of Beatrice and a resident of Silverhill, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010.
He retired from the Norfolk Southern Railway, Mobile; served in the U.S. Army with two tours in the Vietnam War; and was a member of the Lifeway Community Church, Loxley.
Survivors include his wife, Delby Tatum Booker of Silverhill; two daughters, Wendy (Joe) Alford of Statesville, N.C., and Shannon (Robert) Johnson of Milton, Fla.; son, Wesley Booker of Silverhill; two sisters,Anna Laura Brown of Beatrice and Angie Wynn of Hayneville; five brothers, Robert “Butch” Booker and Jimmy McPherson, both of Monroeville, Bart McPherson and Larry McPherson, both of Beatrice, and Milton McPherson of Troy; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services and visitation were held Saturday, June 12 from the chapel of Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale, with the Rev. Rick Barnhart officiating. Burial followed at Silverhill Cemetery.
