ORANGE BEACH, Ala. —Pensacola dancer Bobby Biggs will join the staff of Gulf Coast Ballet this fall. Director Kathleen Tucker announced he will be working at both her studios at The Wharf.
He will co-instruct the two highest levels of ballet students, Ballet IV and V, with Andrea Dickey and will teach the Adult Ballet classes at Gulf Coast Ballet. Mr. Biggs will also teach Contemporary dance and Adult Tap for GCB’s new facility, Triple Threat Studio.
Bobby Biggs began his dance training with Nannette Whidby in 1996, studying ballet, modern, jazz, improv and choreography. The following year Dorothy Lister invited him to be a part of Kaleidoscope and Ballet Pensacola.
In 1999 he was honored to attend The Joffery Ballet Six-Week Summer Intensive in New York City on scholarship.
After graduation he joined the U. S. Marine Corps and served from 2000 to 2004. Upon his discharge he returned to Florida and joined Northwest Florida Ballet, dancing there for five years and becoming an instructor.
Biggs started doing guest work for The Mobile Ballet in 2005 and continues to perform with them. He also continues to study and teach with Dorothy Lister in Pensacola.
