Blue Angels announce 2026 practice schedule at NAS Pensacola

Posted

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will return to the skies over Naval Air Station Pensacola in 2026, offering dozens of free, public practice sessions beginning March 31 at the National Naval Aviation Museum.

The world-renowned flight demonstration squadron will conduct practices from late March through October, drawing aviation fans from across the Gulf Coast and beyond. The museum’s flight line will be open to the public for viewing, giving spectators a close look at the team’s high-speed maneuvers and tight formations as they prepare for air shows nationwide.

The flight line viewing area opens at 9:30 a.m., and the Blue Angels typically take off at 10:30 a.m. Spectators seeking the best seats are encouraged to arrive when gates open. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, as entry to the base will be paused once museum parking reaches capacity.

The 2026 practice schedule includes:

March 31

April 1*, 7, 8*, 14, 15*, 21, 22*, 28, 29*
May 5, 6*, 12, 13*, 26, 27*
June 2, 3*, 9, 10*, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30
July 1, 21, 22*, 28
Aug. 26*
Sept. 1, 9*, 15, 22
Oct. 14*, 20, 28*

Dates marked with an asterisk include Blue Angels autograph sessions held inside the museum atrium following practice flights. These meet-and-greet events are free and open to the public, giving fans an opportunity to interact with the pilots and collect autographs.

Practice viewing is located just north of the National Naval Aviation Museum on the flight line, with on-site signage directing visitors to designated parking and viewing areas. Open bleacher seating is available for up to 500 people. Chair rentals are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs as well as sunscreen and hearing protection for those with sensitive hearing.

Concessions and merchandise will be available during practices, with proceeds supporting museum programs. The venue is cashless and accepts card or mobile payments only.

Security restrictions are in place due to the museum’s location on an active U.S. military installation. Backpacks, daypacks and large bags are prohibited on the flight line. Small purses, diaper bags and bags containing medications are permitted but subject to security screening.

Public access to NAS Pensacola will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the West Gate only, located on the south end of Blue Angel Parkway. Admission to the museum and practice sessions is free.

Visitors should also be aware of federal identification requirements. Under the REAL ID Act, which took effect May 7, 2025, anyone 18 or older must present a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or a valid U.S. passport to enter U.S. military bases or board federally regulated commercial aircraft.
