Blanca Amelia Nieves, a native of Puerto Rico and a resident of Daphne, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013.
She is survived by her children, Luis (Pia) Nieves-Aviles of Meridianville, Ala., Walkiria Nieves-Aviles, Dalma (Felix) Vazquez and Milton Nieves, all of Daphne, and Rochelle (Michel) Terrell of Fairhope; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Roberto (Isabel) Aviles of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Rafael Aviles of Haines City, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
A memorial mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne on Friday, July 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until the service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Covenant Hospice, 1040 Stanton Road, Daphne, Al 36526, (www.covenanthospice.org/daphne/).
