Bessie Flowers Wallace, age 85, a resident of Foley, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022.
She was a teacher at Foley Elementary School and was a member of Foley First Baptist Church. Being a strong woman of Faith in the Lord, she was active in visiting local shut-ins, checking on friends with phone calls, sending cards of encouragement, and many other acts of kindness to show her love. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who had a passion for serving others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Bertie Mae Flowers; sister and brother-in-law, June and Hugh Gabbard; brother, Dr. Leon Flowers.
She is survived by her daughters, Mae (Patrick) Laurendine, Magnolia Springs, Alabama, and Marie (Gary) Fiala, Foley, Alabama; sisters, Jane Bulick, Nashville, Tennessee and Marti (Lynn) Lovelady, Snellville, Georgia; brothers, Dr. William (Janie) Flowers, Pensacola, Florida, Troy (Twila) Flowers, Franklin, Tennessee, Kyle (Sondra) Flowers, Alvin, Texas, Gary Flowers, Foley, Alabama and Charlie Flowers, Nashville, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Dolly Flowers; grandchildren, Jordan (Hannah) Fiala, Jarred Fiala, Laura Kate Laurendine, Madeline Laurendine and Annabelle (Daniel) Vieira; great-granddaughter, Olivia Monroe Fiala; many other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022 at Wolfe-Bayview
Funeral Home, Foley.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM, Friday, Oct. 28, 2022 at the First Baptist Church, Foley.
Interment will follow in Pleasant View Baptist Cemetery, Foley.
