SUMMERDALE — Caleb Coxwell was a fourth-grade student at Alabama Gulf Coast Christian Academy when he was killed in a farming machinery accident July 2009.
He was excited to be a student at AGCCA, a school built in his mother’s memory. He had a servant’s heart, and he volunteered at every opportunity to lead devotionals, pray, and lead singing during chapel.
He was always willing to help, and he wanted to grow up to be a preacher like his grandfather, Billy Lambert. Despite his young age, he was a leader. Caleb’s pure, servant-like heart touched everyone at AGCCA and he is greatly missed.
Caleb’s favorite activities were baseball and football. He was on the Foley city football league and baseball team. He always asked to play baseball or two-hand touch football at P.E. School sports were part of Caleb’s dream for AGCCA. Caleb’s family, along with the family of AGCCA, has decided to build a baseball field, Caleb’s Field of Dreams, to honor Caleb’s dream.
A fundraiser for Caleb’s Field of Dreams will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at the Alabama Gulf Coast Christian Academy, located on the corner of County Road 28 and County Road 71 in Summerdale.
Come and enjoy games, food, and fun at Saturday for the Park and help raise the funds necessary to make his dream a reality.
