Verona “Nonie” Anderson Beiser, born April 27, 1920 in Saskatchewan, Canada, died Sunday, June 10, 2007.
She moved to Fairhope in 1930 with her mother, Clara Anderson, brother, Stanley, and Sister, Vivian. She met Carl Beiser and married him in 1937. They had two children, Delaine and William.
She was one of the first successful business women in Fairhope. She became owner of The Colony Shop Inc., a woman’s boutique, around 1950. She was a very striking and elegant lady. She was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fairhope.
Survivors include a son William M. (Jeannie) Beiser of Pass Christian, Miss., grandchildren, Deborah (William) Huber Moffett and Kimberly (Harry) Huber McLemore, both of Fairhope, Michael (Tinnie) Beiser, Holly Beiser (Dwayne) Haisch and Mathew Beiser all of Pass Christian, Miss.; great-grandchildren, Alisha (Jonathan) Beiser Murray of Pearl River, La., Kelsey McLemore, Krista McLemore, Morgan Moffett all of Fairhope, Jacob Haisch of Pass Christian; great-great-grandchildren, Brennan Murray and Hayden Murray of Pearl River.
Private Graveside services were held with the Rev. William Parsons officiating.
