Deb O’Brien Bedwell, a native of Oakridge, Tenn., a long-time resident of Memphis, Tenn., and a resident of Baldwin County, died Thursday, June 14, 2007 at her home after a brief battle with brain cancer.
She worked as the assistant to the athletic director for 23 years at Rhodes College in Memphis, before retiring to Gulf Shores.
She later became a real estate agent where she was property manager for Young’s Suncoast Realty and Vacation Rentals.
She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Lee Tomlinson, and her father, Linton O’Brien.
Survivors include her husband, Chuck Bedwell; daughter, Caroline “Carrie” Tomlinson of Memphis; grandson, Christopher James Tallant of Memphis; two step-daughters, Erin Ranae (Justin) Baldwin of Mobile, and Megan Elaine Bedwell of Quinto, Ecuador; her mother, Doris Moser O’Brien of Foley; brother, Peter Patrick (Ang) O’Brien of Jackson, Tenn.; father-in-law, Herman C. (Martha) Bedwell of Mobile; sister-in-law, Kim (David) Garner of Mobile; brother-in-law, Mike (Cherri) Bedwell of mobile; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Celebrate the life and share your memories at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23 at San Carlos Condominiums, third floor meeting room, 365 E. Beach Blvd., Gulf Shores.
