Smell the salt air, marvel at the scenery, and enjoy the euphoria of flight as it was meant to be.  There is truly nothing in the world like the magic of flight in a trike.

Beachflight Aviation is a fully certified FAA Flight School founded by Kevin Wendelburg and Gary Berdeaux. Both gentlemen bring extensive, yet different aviation experiences to the company. Both want to share their life’s passion with you.

Kevin brings over 12,000 hours of professional flight experience to the operation.  He has flown everything form Light Sport Trikes to Boeing 767’s, and is currently employed as an international pilot with a major U.S. Airline.

Gary grew up with aviation at the grass roots level.  He has advance experience in hang gliders where he honed his skills to become very knowledgeable in the intricacies of flight.  Gary continued on to powered flight with trikes in 1999.  After accumulating hundreds of hours of airtime,  with much encouragement from fellow pilots, he has become an FAA-Certified (Light Sport) Flight Instructor.

Since then, Gary has enjoyed sharing his passion for aviation with his students in Glasgow Kentucky in his business, Kentucky Sport Aviation!  In an effort to find year-round weather permitting open cockpit flight instruction, Gary and Kevin have launched BeachFlight Aviation at Jack Edwards National Airport in Gulf Shores Alabama.

The combination of good weather, close proximity to the beautiful Gulf coast beaches, excellent lodging, dining and family recreation make Gulf Shores the perfect location.  Students can easily bring their family along as they log dual instruction time to become either an Ultralight or Light Sport pilot.

Located at Jack Edwards National Airport in Gulf Shores, AL
