BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The Baldwin County Tigers used three pitchers to keep a herd of Toro base runners from reaching home Tuesday night and went on to an 8-4 home win over Spanish Fort.

Seth Sellers came on in relief in the middle of the third with the bases loaded and no outs and pitched the Tigers back into the dugout to protect a 5-1 lead. Sellers scattered four of the Toros eight hits and improved his record to 2-0 and the Tigers' to 11-3. Spanish Fort stranded 10 men and out-hit the Tigers 8-7, but could not get the last 90 feet. The loss snapped an eight-game win streak for the Toros (11-5).

Jake Swearingen drove in three runs off two hits and closed for Sellers in the seventh, Billy Johnstone had two hits and an RBI for BCHS.

Joel Poe had a double and an RBI single, Jesse McCord went 3-for-4 and Matt Hall connected for a run-scoring fielders choice for the Toros who defeated LeFlore 14-4 earlier in the day in a 5A Area 2 series game. SFHS will host Mary G. Montgomery Friday at 6 p.m.

The Tigers host inter-area and inter-county rival Daphne Friday night at BCHS' Jerry Wright Memorial Field at 6:30 p.m.
