DAPHNE, Ala. — Set ‘em up Syd. Bayside Academy senior setter Sydney Chandler has been named to the MaxPreps 2013 Preseason All-American Volleyball Team.

Chandler helped lead the Bayside Lady Admirals to win their 11th-straight state championship as a junior last fall to earn her fourth state title. She has been a starter for Bayside head coach Ann Schilling since the eighth grade.

Chandler looks to add to her recorded 1686 assists, 147 aces, 54 blocks and 233 digs. As a sophomore she was selected as the Alabama Elite Eight 3A State tournament Most Valuable Player. Bayside surpassed McGill-Toolen Catholic as the highest winning program in Alabama High School Athletic Association history with that 2011 state crown. Their 11-consecutive state-title streak is presently second overall in U.S. high-school volleyball history.

The Admirals will soon delve for twelve as they open their 2013 season Thursday hosting the 6A McGill-Toolen Dirty Dozen in Louise Moorer Gym on the Daphne campus.
