DAPHNE, Ala.—The Bayside Academy Lady Admirals won their senior night match with a 3-0 sweep over visiting Cottage Hill Christian School Thursday night 25-11, 25-14, 25-15. The match was reminiscent of the 3A state final in Birmingham last year which Bayside won.
Thursday was also an area league match between the two clubs who will meet again at Bayside in the 3A Area 1 tournament Oct. 21. As the regular-season area champion, the Admirals will host the tournament, CHCS is the area runner-up, W.S. Neal is third and T.R. Miller will be the fourth seed.
Morgan Dulaney led BA (33-6) with 12 kills, two aces, a block and four digs; Jhalen Caffey had nine kills, three aces and 10 digs; Lauren Chastang had eight kills, 10 digs; Harper Morrison seven kills, one block; Ariel Dulaney added six aces, two blocks and setter Sydney Chandler had 33 assists, three kills, three aces, one block and 10 digs.
The CHCS Warriors (26-11) were led by Hannah Wentland with seven kills and Anna Kennedy and Hannah Vanderheiden who each had seven digs.
