Bayside Academy senior Patrick Daves was selected by the Mobile Optimist Club as 1A–5A Athlete of the Week for his performance at Gulf Shores, on Saturday, March 19.
Patrick won the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles, finished second in high jump, and finished fifth in the 200-meter dash. This was Patrick's first competition of the Outdoor Track & Field season.
On Saturday, April 2, Patrick competed in the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles at the Mobile Challenge of Champions Invite. Patrick won the 110-meter hurdles with a new personal best and ninth best mark in the United States in a time of 13.70 seconds.
His time is the third best wind-legal time in the U.S.
Patrick also posted another sub-39 second 300-meter hurdle performance finishing second with a time of 38.63 seconds.
