DAPHNE, Ala.—Bayside Academy will host “The Two Faces of Facebook” presentation Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Pilot Center Theatre.
The presentation hopes to inform students and parents.
Tommy Loftis, law enforcement coordinator for the United States Attorney’s office, will speak to the attendees about how to safely use the social networking website, along with the dangers of text messaging, “sexting” and cyber bullying. He will also discuss how online predators use the Internet to meet and contact their victims and how someone’s Facebook information can affect his or her acceptance into a college or hiring for a future job.
“We’ve invited the whole community, so we’re expecting a big crowd. We’re hoping for standing-room only,” Taylor Strunk, Bayside's communications director, said.
Parents are advised to not bring any child younger than fifth grade to the presentation.
