DAPHNE — Yohanna Jimenez, who teaches Spanish at Bayside Academy, has been selected by the Alabama World Language Association as the Best of State presentation and will represent Alabama at the Southern Conference on Language Teaching (SCOLT) conference in Virginia this spring.

Her presentation is titled "Essential Tools for the World Language Classroom."

SCOLT is also honoring Señora Jimenez at their conference as the 2022 Founders Award recipient.

According to SCOLT, "The SCOLT Board of Directors presents the Founders Award when deemed appropriate to a member who has made significant contributions to SCOLT over the years and who exemplifies the spirit and ideals of the founders of the organization."

Señora Jimenez will also present "Herramientas y estrategias didácticas de enseñanza para su arsenal pedagógico" at the 104th annual AATSP conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico, this summer with Liza Heath, a colleague from UMS-Wright.

Bayside Academy is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school for students in grades PK3–12.
