DAPHNE, Ala. — Bayside Academy held its 20th annual John A. Robertson Memorial Golf Tournament Sept. 19 at Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope.

More than 160 golfers braved the heat and humidity to participate in the four-man scramble with prizes for first, second and third place for both gross/net divisions.

The gross division champion team included Haymes Snedeker, Larry Snedeker, Johnny Fisher and Ty Thompson. The net division first-place team included Tim Todd, Rebecca Todd, Dan Matthews and Seth Matthews. Finishing second in the gross division was the team of Quint Jardine, Rick Palesano, Jeffery Arthur and Randy Saucier. Second-place net division winner was the team of Sean Fisk, Mike Evans, Michael Eslava and Rico Eslava.

Other winners included the third-place gross team of Todd McDonald, Russ Jones, Rick Jones and Kenny Nichols and the third-place net team of Paul Averitt, Jim Poe, John Thomas and Nehal Bodalia. Kim Flurry took home the award for closest to the pin, Russ Jones won the longest drive in the men’s division, and Bryce Roush won the longest drive in the students’ division.

More than $39,000 was raised for Bayside Academy, which will be used to purchase a planetarium and a defibrillator for the school, with the balance to be split for needed equipment and supplies among campus teams, clubs and organizations.

Thompson — winner of the Big Hole-In-One, and the first winner in 10 years to make this hole-in-one shot at the tourney — donated his winnings back to the school to purchase a color printer for the Early Childhood Center.
