Bay Minette Mayor Joshua Brown will host a series of community district meetings throughout June alongside city council members and the city's new police chief.

The programming is meant to give residents an opportunity to meet local leaders, receive community updates and discuss questions or concerns.

According to an announcement posted Monday, June 1, on the City of Bay Minette Facebook page, the meetings are intended to strengthen communication and transparency while creating more opportunities for residents to engage with city leaders.

"Community conversations like this haven’t happened in many years, and the city is excited to create more opportunities for residents to stay informed, involved and connected," the post reads.

The first meeting will be held for District 5 residents on Tuesday, June 9, at 5:30 p.m. at Deliverance Ministry Child Center, 105 Lamar Drive, Bay Minette.

A District 4 meeting will follow on Wednesday, June 10, at 5 p.m. at the Boykin Center, 900 Still Blvd., Bay Minette. Brown will be joined by City Councilman Tyrone Thompson and Police Chief James Rosier Jr.

District 5 residents will have a second opportunity to attend a meeting Tuesday, June 16, at 5:30 p.m. at Holly Hills Municipal Golf Course, 38600 Country Club Drive, Bay Minette. Brown, City Councilman Chris Norman and Rosier are scheduled to attend.

A combined meeting for residents of Districts 1 through 3 is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, at 5:30 p.m. in the Bay Minette City Hall Council Chambers, 301 D'Olive St., Bay Minette. Brown will be joined by City Councilmen Pete Sellers, Mike Phillips and Matt Franklin, along with Rosier.

City officials said the meetings will focus on connection, conversation and community concerns while bringing discussions directly into neighborhoods across Bay Minette.

"We encourage residents from every district to come out, participate and help shape the future of Bay Minette," officials said in the post.
