BAY MINETTE, Alabama --- A Bay Minette teen is facing kidnapping, rape and sodomy charges after, police say, he held his date hostage for more than eight hours at a Bay Minette residence.

Sgt. Ray Dixon with the Bay Minette Police Department said Tuesday that the parents of a Bay Minette teenager contacted police Saturday morning after she returned home in the early morning hours.

Friday night, when the unidentified teenager showed up at the home of her date, 17-year-old Ruben Dameon Tejeda, police say instead she was held at knife point for over eight hours, raped repeatedly and sodomized.

Officers with the Bay Minette Police Department went to the residents where the crimes were reported and obtained permission to search the residence, Dixon said.

“While they were there, Tejeda was contacted and told he needed to come on in, that police were searching the residence,” Dixon said. Instead, he fled the scene and when police received reports that he was planning to flee to Texas, officials with the U.S. Marshal’s office were called in.

With the assistance of officers from the U.S. Marshal’s office, Robertsdale Police Department and Baldwin County Sheriff’s deputies, Tejeda was arrested Sunday at his father’s home in Robertsdale, charged with first degree kidnapping, rape and sodomy, all Class A felonies in which the 17-year-old is being charged as an adult.

Tejeda was reportedly found in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, along with a pistol, that had been reported stolen, so charges of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and drug addict in possession of a pistol were added, along with third degree receiving stolen property (under $500).

Tejeda is currently in the Baldwin County Corrections Facility on a$791,000 bond.

Drugs and drug paraphernalia were also found at the Robertsdale residence, Dixon said. Sgt. Rex Bishop with the Robertsdale Police Department confirmed Tuesday that Tejeda’s father, Ruben Christopher Tejeda, 40, was also arrested and remains in the custody of Robertsdale Police on misdemeanor drug and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
