Bay Minette Public Library continues to expand services

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The Bay Minette Public Library has launched its OneClick Digital program which offers downloadable audio and eBooks from Recorded Books.

“We added this service to give our patrons even more variety. Our Camellia Net service is so popular that this should take off as well,” said Joanna Bailey, library director.

The new service can be found on the library’s website at bayminetteal.oneclickdigital.com.

Adding the OneClick Digital option provides patrons with easy access to a growing number of titles.

“This service is important because it provides more digital content for our patrons and keeps the library moving in a more technologically advanced direction. There are nearly 4,000 eAudio books available with between 30 and 40 new titles being added each quarter,” Bailey said. “These audio books are also multi-access which means there is no waiting list for a title. In addition to the audio books, we have several classic titles in eBook format.”

Bailey said accessing the service is simple and patrons can easily download eBooks and audio. “After a quick one-time account set-up process, you will be able to checkout and download audiobooks.”

Audiobooks are hugely popular and having this added service makes it easier for patrons to find what they want with the click of their fingertips.

OneClick Digital is just the latest service added by the library, Bailey said. “We recently added the Zinio digital magazines which gave the patrons added access to digital information. The new OneClick Digital service is very similar to Camellia Net.”

Bailey has also added several resources to the library website at bayminettepubliclibrary.org to help patrons navigate the new product.

An added bonus is that OneClick Digital has a patron support number so patrons can call them directly for help. “Since the audiobooks are provided by Recorded Books, our patrons have access to the wonderful titles and narrators from the convenience of home,” she said.

The service also expands options for those who may not have time to sit down and read a book. “I have had several patrons comment on how much they enjoy the downloadable audiobooks. One patron commutes to work every day, and listening to a story makes the drive a breeze. I also have patrons who like to listen while they exercise, garden and clean the house. Hearing someone read to you makes any task much, much better.”
