BAY MINETTE, Alabama — A Bay Minette man has been arrested and Bay Minette police are seeking information to help identify other suspects after a local sales lot was broken into and at least two vehicles along with more than 60 electronic keys were stolen.
According to Baldwin County Corrections Facility online records, Mitchell Tyrell Williams, 35, of Bay Minette, was booked Sunday, June 13 on third degree burglary charges and is being held on a $3,000 bond.
On Saturday, June 12, the Bay Minette Police Department responded to reports of stolen vehicles from the sales lot at Chuck Stevens Dodge on U.S. 31 in Bay Minette.
When Officers arrived on scene, they located a broken window in the dealership where access was gained inside the building and several windows to offices were destroyed.
Since then, two vehicles, a Dodge Challenger and a black Dodge Ram, have been recovered in Evergreen. It is believed those were the only two stolen from the lot at this time, according to a release issued Monday by Bay Minette Police Chief Al Tolbert.
Along with the vehicles, it is believed that 62 key FOBs, or electronic keys, were also stolen from the dealership worth approximately $9,300, according to the release.
Investigators are actively searching other businesses in the area and along the U.S. 31 and Alabama 59 corridor for more video and clues that may help identify additional suspects.
